The Queen of Hearts
“OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!” she yells….. Simon deliberately chose to carve her in Cedar as this allowed Simon to move the piece around freely as it is much lighter in weight than Oak. She is constructed of two trunks joint together, which was why it was important to use lighter wood so that they could easily be lifted on and off as he worked on the piece.
